I bought a 2006 PT Cruiser here a year ago and it was the best experience with a car dealership I have ever had!! They have great and friendly sales team! I am very satisfied with my vehicle and I will definitely refer 4th Avenue Auto Sales to everyone I know! Thank you guys for everything! You really go above and beyond!
I purchased a vehicle (sale price: $2800) in July of 2009 from Fourth Avenue Auto Sales. Unfortunately, test-driving a vehicle for 20 minutes doesn't always reveal significant issues that unscrupulous dealers can keep undisclosed from perspective buyers. During the test drive, I noticed a few minor problems that were normal in any vehicle one might purchase from a used car dealership. Their asking price seemed reasonable for what I assumed was a mechanically safe and sound vehicle. Then, the very next day coolant began seeping from the lower intake manifold. It was a slow enough leak to be concealed for a day or two, but indicative of an obvious problem the dealer must have known about. There was also a broken rear coil spring that should've been caught during a routine safety inspection. My mechanic noticed it immediately, and $400 later the rear suspension was restored to road-worthiness. Based on these two problems (both of which were detected almost immediately after purchase) it is my conclusion that 4th Avenue Auto Sales either: A) Does not thoroughly inspect any of the vehicles they sell...or B) Attempts, through omission or deception, to hide significant mechanical and safety issues from prospective buyers. In either case, buyers should be aware of these practices when considering a purchase from this particular dealer.
